Why and How did Kevin build his home gym?

Kevin had been working as a Supply Chain Manager at a standard desk job that required him to commute. He also held a gym membership to keep himself fit and active.

When the pandemic hit, his job became remote and his gym was forced to shut down.

Like many people, Kevin scrambled to put together a home gym.

He quickly realized that his outdoor patio would have to suffice for a workout space.

Kevin was determined to make the most of the situation and started to gather equipment. He managed to cobble together a collection of workout gear, including a Rogue Echo Bike, dumbbells, kettlebells, and a sandbag.

Kevin trained outdoors for three full years. He persevered and eventually added a squat stand, barbell, and bumper plates to his collection.

Purchasing a new house (and a home gym!)

In 2022, Kevin purchased a new house and he knew it was time to create a more professional home gym. He wanted to invest in top-of-the-line Rogue equipment and make the squat rack the centerpiece of his setup. After much consideration, he settled on the Rogue RML 3WC foldback rack, which gave him the flexibility to park his car in the garage when necessary.

Kevin’s strategy was to purchase key pieces of equipment like the squat rack, bumper plates, and rower from Rogue and generic items like kettlebells and dumbbells from Amazon to save some money.

He also chose to use horse stall mats from Tractor Supply for his gym flooring, which turned out to be a great decision. These mats were affordable, durable, and able to handle heavy weights without any issues.
